The participant determines where it leads, what it means, and what, if anything, they do with it.
How It Came To Be: From Book to Table
It began with my book, Be the You That's More You Than You've Ever Been. At my first interactive book signing, I realized I didn't want to just talk about self-discovery. I wanted people to experience it.That experiment grew into seven interactive excavation tables at the Williams Inn during ArtWeek. One table, filled with ordinary objects and a simple question, sparked something unexpected. People began sharing memories, stories, and connections they hadn't anticipated.That table traveled to farmers markets, community events, and immersive experiences. Along the way, The Live Dig™ emerged—not as a collection of objects, but as an evolving methodology for creating the conditions in which people discover something for themselves.
One Version: The Williams Inn
The Williams Inn hosted the very first immersive Live Dig™ experience during ArtWeek in the Berkshires. Seven interactive excavation tables invited participants to explore their own thoughts, memories, and unexpected connections. What began as an experiment in self-discovery became the starting point for an evolving methodology that puts participants in charge of their own discoveries.
